Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center Urges Residents To Sign Up For Health Insurance During Special Saturday Hours Open Enrollment Event

POMONA VALLEY HOSPITAL MEDICAL CENTER URGES RESIDENTS TO SIGN UP FOR HEALTH INSURANCE DURING SPECIAL SATURDAY HOURS OPEN ENROLLMENT EVENT

Community Invited to Meet with Certified Covered California™ Representatives and Enroll in a Health Insurance Plan During Additional Saturday Hours on November 18 Only

Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC) is offering extended open enrollment hours on Saturday, November 18 from 9 am – 2 pm to accommodate area residents who are not able to visit the hospital’s health insurance eligibility office during regular business hours. English and Spanish-speaking Covered California™ representatives will be available to answer questions about health care coverage options, monthly premiums, and the application process.

Those who want to enroll in individual or family health care plans on-site must bring:

• California ID or driver’s license
• Proof of current income
• U.S. passport, legal resident card, certificate of citizenship or naturalization documentation

Applicants must also know the birth dates, social security numbers and zip codes for each family member applying.

Individuals and families may either qualify for private insurance coverage available through Covered California's health insurance exchange or for state-sponsored Medicaid coverage. A single streamlined application is used to identify the best coverage based on an individual’s and/or family's income.

Applicants must sign up for a new plan or renew their plan by December 15, 2017 for coverage beginning January 1, 2018. The Covered California open enrollment period runs through January 31, 2018.

PVHMC’s regularly scheduled hours for the health insurance eligibility services office are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
