A New Generation in a Family Rooted at PVHMC

On September 24, 2024, just after midnight, baby Maya Allard was born at 6lbs 11 oz. After just a few seconds of life, she already had a legacy here at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC). Her big sister, Mikayla, had been born here, and her parents, Jacob and Ginnene, met here and are a part of the PVHMC team.

Jacob, who started as a student nurse from Azusa Pacific University, was on rotation in our Neuro ICU when he met Ginnene, a night shift nurse on the unit. It was love at first report! He continued to connect with Ginnene as he completed school, then, after his preceptorship on our MedSurg 5 unit, Jacob joined our Trauma ICU…and the rest is history.

After two years together they were married, with dozens of fellow PVHMC nurses present to witness their union. In fact, the wedding guests knew exactly which group of friends were from PVHMC, since they all jumped into action when another guest fainted.

Six years later, they continue to grow in their nursing careers and now have two sweet girls by their side.

“We just love Pomona,” said Ginnene. “All the nurses have been amazing in taking care of me with both girls.”

“Special shout-out to our OB, the LDRP nurses and our triage team!” adds Jacob.

Welcome to the PVHMC family, little Maya!
