PVHMC Increases Telemetry Capacity with Newly Designated “3-Central” Unit

Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC) recently opened an adult telemetry and medical-surgical unit, “3-Central,” on the third floor, near Elevator C.

The dual-care unit increases capacity for telemetry patients who need continuous cardiac and respiratory monitoring, and medical-surgical patients, which provides a more general level of care for post-surgical or acutely ill or injured patients. 3-Central was formerly a labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum overflow unit.

In recent years, PVHMC has seen an increase for telemetry services, which coincides with an increased prevalence of cardiovascular disease across the nation, according to the American Heart Association, as well as the seasonal spread of respiratory viruses. 3-Central adds 27 telemetry beds, for a housewide total of 133 telemetry beds.
