The Ethics Committee is a place to turn when you face difficult choices, such as decisions about life-sustaining treatment or about a patient’s “living will”. When circumstances arise that present ethical dilemmas for patients, their families, and their caregivers, the Ethics Committee is available to consult with you, your family, or your doctor. The Committee will not make decisions for you or dictate treatment, but it can help provide guidance in an atmosphere that is supportive and respectful of the values of all involved.
Patients and families can ask their doctor, nurse, social worker, or chaplain to contact the Ethics Committee. You may also reach the hospital Clinical Ethicist, Dr. David Adams, at 909.935.0976, or the Chair of the Ethics Committee through the Medical Staff Office, at 909.865.9125.
