As experts in the body’s anatomy and in human movement, PVHMC's licensed physical therapists evaluate strength, range of motion, flexibility, balance, coordination and mobility. They use heat, cold, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, soft tissue mobilization techniques and therapeutic exercise to help restore function, improve mobility and relieve pain in patients with disabilities from illness, injuries or disease. Often physical therapists specialize in treating specific areas such as the back, knee or shoulder. Others specialize in treating certain patient types such as geriatrics, pediatrics and athletes, or patients with certain diagnoses, such as strokes, wounds, amputations or arthritis.
Our physical therapy staff includes several therapists recognized by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as a board-certified specialist in a specific area of expertise including:
Adult outpatient physical therapy (PT) is provided at PVHMC in the Rehabilitation Services department and at our PT clinics in Chino Hills, Claremont, and Covina. Pediatric outpatient PT is offered at our Milestones Centers for Child Development located in Chino Hills and Claremont. In addition to outpatient services, our Physical Therapists also treat children and adults on the inpatient floors of PVHMC.
