Dedicated Respiratory Care Practitioners for Asthma

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory airway disease. Nearly 15 million individuals in the U.S. are affected by asthma, resulting in hundreds of thousands of hospitalizations every year as well. The Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCP) at PVHMC help you not just understand but manage your asthma in a healthy way. We provide comprehensive asthma education classes, adhering to the latest information provided by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health.

Our RCPs review the following in class:

• Pulmonary physiology
• Recognizing the symptoms of asthma
• Identifying triggers of your asthma
• Controlling triggers
• Common asthma medications
• Peak flow meter and why monitoring is important
• Newer asthma medications
• Asthma prevention and action plans

You meet one on one with one of our knowledgeable RCPs to discuss these health issues related to asthma-all free of charge. We also offer classes in English and Spanish!
